Double Hung Counter Balanced Timber Windows
All the heritage character of a double hung sash, with a modern counter-balanced mechanism that glides open with one hand and stays put — and, unusually for custom joinery, independently tested to AS2047 for real-world performance.
Effortless operation, tested performance
A traditional double hung relies on weights or springs to hold each sash where you leave it. Our counter-balanced version refines that — a smooth spring balance means the sash lifts with one hand and stays put, with no cords to fray or weights to service.
It keeps the classic vertical-sliding look for heritage and contemporary homes alike, and unlike most made-to-order joinery it has been independently tested: a 2200 x 1000mm sample passed AS2047-1999 to housing rating N3 with a NATA-endorsed authority — covering air infiltration, water penetration and ultimate structural strength.
